Trip OverviewWelcome! Erin's Make-A-Wish trip consists of two travel days (May 3 and May 9) and five full days at the Give Kids the World Village - along with trips to the DisneyWorld parks and Universal Studios. We will attempt to keep a running log here each day of our trip. If we miss a day or have a delay (during the trip) it's probably because we'll be exhausted! We hope you enjoy the trip with us! Background Erin's request for a Wish (by the Make-A-Wish Foundation) came while she was being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. An extremely life-threatening illness which still only carries an 80-85% survival rate. In addition to ALL, Erin also has two other disabilites. First is a condition called Chiari Malformation for which she underwent cranial decompression surgery when she was nine months old. And second is a genetic condition called Williams Syndrome. Chiari Malformation can be life threatening, and Williams Syndrome typically has several physical disabilites (such as pulminary aortic stenosis) which can also be life threatening.
