Over the edge

You know, I've always been a liberal thinker. And, with the exception of that schoolyard bully I finally squashed in the sixth grade, I've always been a pacifist. A lover, not a fighter (though I'm sure there a few disgruntled exes out there who'd contend I wasn't much of either).

That notwithstanding, I've come to the horrifying realization that 6-plus years of Republican rule have driven me to entertain genuine homicidal feelings toward my Conservative brethren on a shockingly regular basis. Case in point, a recent editorial by Conservative columnist Stu Bykofsky, which offers us this heartwarming premise:
America's fabric is pulling apart like a cheap sweater.

What would sew us back together?

Another 9/11 attack.

The Golden Gate Bridge. Mount Rushmore. Chicago's Wrigley Field. The Philadelphia subway system. The U.S. is a target-rich environment for al Qaeda.

Is there any doubt they are planning to hit us again?

If it is to be, then let it be. It will take another attack on the homeland to quell the chattering of chipmunks and to restore America's righteous rage and singular purpose to prevail.
Good God!

Of course, FOX's John Gibson, Mr. "Fair and Balanced" himself, immediately seconded Bykosfky's compassionately conservative theory, stating on air, "I think it's going to take a lot of dead people to wake America up."

I wonder how he would've reacted if Barack Obama had cheered on another catastrophic terrorist attack. Hmmmmm...

I'm certainly not the first to condemn this indefensible tripe, but, once again, there's a deafening silence emanating from the Right. I hate to point out the obvious, kids, but saying nothing in response to Bykofsky's insanity is tantamount to endorsing his views.

And it's coming close to pushing me over the edge. Republicans, consider yourselves warned.

Finally!
Someone with Golden thoughts, a silver tongue, and brass balls.

Oh, to become part of the fabric, or better said, metal armour interwoven of individuals who are not validated by the their political correctness by their inalienable right to express their personal point of view.

I, sadly, am not made of such precious metal. But would excel as an obdurate lining.

Happy to have found your Blog. Hope to read more of your thoughts.
Will follow updates.
