Pathetic

You know, I've characterized the Bush Administration as many things at this site. Ignorant. Criminal. Theocratic. Murderous. Imperial. Dishonest. Hypocritical. Inept. But with the announcement by Karl Rove that the President plans to "emphatically" veto legislation designed to expand federal funding of stem-cell research, I can only think of one appropriate descriptor:

Pathetic.

This is legislation that has broad bi-partisan support. This is legislation aimed at pursuing what may be the greatest medical breakthrough of our lifetimes. This is legislation designed to ease suffering and save lives.

To which The Decider intends to say "No."

Please, contact your Congressional Representatives. Write your Senators. Hell, call the White House itself, and demand that this important legislation be supported fully and enthusiastically. Reject the disingenuous claptrap that stem-cell research "destroys life to save life." Take a stand in favor of scientific advancement for the betterment of mankind.

To do anything else isn't merely pathetic. It's just plain dumb.
