One for the good guys

As reported in today's Washington Post:
The Bush administration, in an apparent policy reversal sparked by a recent Supreme Court ruling, said today it will extend to detainees in the war-on-terror the guarantees of humane treatment specified by the Geneva Conventions...

[White House spokesman Tony] Snow said U.S. detainees have been treated humanely but "we want to get it right... It's not really a reversal of policy." Snow called the Supreme Court decision "complex."
For those of you keeping score on your "GOP hypocrisy cards", that's what was known in the Summer of '04 as "flip-flopping."

Nevertheless, let's not dwell on the negative. Chalk one up for the good guys. You know who I mean - those America-hating Liberals who've decried Bush's rejection of the Geneva Conventions from the start. Those terrorist-hugging Progressives who've been labeled and libeled as "traitors" for their defense of simple human decency, relentlessly slandered by this Administration and its rabid disciples.

Yeah, those good guys.

Hip, hip hooray! You've nailed it!

Exellent blog, BTW, & I'm not just sayin' that because you linked to mine. I see I'm in really good company.

Maybe I'll meet you in person someday when this Administration succeeds in rounding all us "thought criminals" & "enemies within" & deports us to be tortured in some undisclosed location in hell ~

From the looks of it, it's just a matter of time.
