Disconnected
I think the opening sentence in this AP story says it all:
Disconnected, insulated, tone deaf, incompetent, uninformed, uneducated, UNBEARABLE. That pretty much sums up the man who'll be calling the shots in this nation for the next three years. Isn't it past time to demand a change, and put somebody in the Oval Office who's actually paying attention to the important things?
President Bush was unaware of the pending sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates until the deal already had been approved by his administration.Now, I'm sure that the President isn't necessarily briefed on every corporate buyout, or change in National Parks' employees, or local municipal ruling on the hours during which garbage collection is allowed! But this?! Seems like this should have been something that might have caught the attention of the self-proclaimed guardian of America's homeland security - if for no other reason than the expected PR fallout.

It's long past time Bob. Let's hope for some rational elections which will put people, not sycophants, into power this fall.
Bush needs to more than just a lame duck, he needs to be removed from office, along with Cheney and the rest of the cabal.
YES! Isn't it amazing that those of us who actually pay attention to these things keep asking questions that are easily answered and yet will receive no attention from anyone in a position of power?
I am so past being sick of this administration. I am amazed that this level of fascism and authoritarianism can be accepted by so many of the people. It's not even okay in today's media climate to use the word fascism, or even its less loaded word, corporatism. But what else do you call it when decisions are made at the highest level not based on how they will help Americans, but on how they will help the portfolios of people within the administration?
This is fascism. And fascism has to be countered whenever and wherever it rears up its head. I've got an idea on how to fight it - so do lots of other people - so maybe it's time those of us who recognize it actually got off our butts and did something about it. I'm not trying to upset anyone here, but the days of blindly going along with this incompetent, criminal regime have got to stop.
