Finally, a smart proposal

Also from the New York Times, former senior director for Middle East affairs at the National Security Council Flynt Leverett writes that "[d]uring its five years in office, the administration has turned away from every opportunity to put relations with Iran on a more positive trajectory."

More importantly, Mr Leverett also offers a fascinating, actionable proposal (involving a surprising partner) for diplomatically solving the Iranian nuclear question, one that is quite possibly the first intelligent outline for a peaceful settlement with long range benefits to come from a current or former government official.

Let's hope someone on the White House staff still reads newspapers, and summarizes this one for our Cowboy in Chief.
