Whew! Almost there...

It's interesting, isn't it, the way a work emergency has the power to make our world so small, so insulated, so immediate. How the NOW becomes all, and for that moment we lose contact with the travails of the nation, or the globe. We just don't have the time. In some ways, that singular focus on the task at hand is a welcome thing, a break from the seemingly endless assaults on an America we once knew by the real enemies of democracy, enemies who now hold the highest positions of power in our society.

Still, while our attention is temporarily diverted by those crises closer to home, there's an injustice somewhere that goes unopposed, a misdeed that remains unpunished, a falsehood that escapes unchallenged. One thing is for certain - I have some catching up to do on the events of the last few days, and hopefully I'll be back to form by this evening. Meanwhile, please use the resources at this site to read, connect, explore, volunteer, write, donate, protest, and generally stay informed and involved. Good hunting.
