Astounding
Wanna run that by me again?!
A jump in support, on the heels of revelations that the President has broken the law by authorizing secret domestic spying, and defiantly pledges to continue with this illegal practice? A rise of 11 points on the economy, even though a majority of credible analysts have publicly stated that our economic "boom" is benefiting only the rich, while average Americans continue to lose financial ground under this Administration? A 56 percent approval rating for his handling of the fight against terrorism, in light of the recent 9/11 Commission report that he has failed in almost every respect to actually make the nation more secure?!
I must be living in Neverland.
This news is even more unbelievable when coupled with reports that "democracy" in Iraq is turning out to be the ascendancy of a "coalition of Shiite Muslim political parties with ties to Iran," and "a further entrenchment of the country's ethnic and sectarian divides." Is this what our men and women in uniform have been dying for over the last three years? Is this the objective of Mr. Bush's grand plan for the Middle East? Is this the news generating "optimism" among poll respondents - the genesis of yet another Islamic fundamentalist state?
I guess I missed the Barbara Walters special about U.S. citizens lining up, Jonestown-style, to willingly swallow their daily ration of stupid pills...
Good Lord! Wake up, America, and smell the coffee. The scheming, inept, and callous Bush Administration has failed us on virtually every level - and has openly promised to do more of the same for the next three years. And yet the President's approval rating is rising?!
Absolutely astounding.

You mentioned being in Neverland. But it's more like Wonderland. Black is white, down is up, nothing makes sense unless you learn how to see it from their point of view.
They want us confused, so they can keep on conquering, keep on seizing land, money, and oil. Why do you think they brought down the towers? Why do you think they keep killing civilians with chemical weapons and depleted uranium? They don't want peace to rein, and justice to prevail. They want chaos, controlled chaos that feeds their mighty war machine.
Why do you thiknk Margaret Thatcher's son was flying around in Pat Robertson's plane plotting death and destruction in a tiny African nation? Why do you think that death squads in Iraq didn't exist pre-Negroponte, but now they do. And why does the President not follow any recommendations of the corrupt 9/11 commission except the one that turns John Negroponte into the world's most powerful spy?
You liked death squads in Latin America? Now try em right here in the US of A. It's coming, Bob, just watch and wait. These clowns see something that works, and they just keep bringing it back.
Why do you think they'd keep flogging social security reform, even though it clearly doesn't work? Because they thrive on suffering, they feed on fear. Ratchet up the people's fear and they will demand a change. And when the change comes, they end up receiving more than they ever bargained for. Remember the Patriot Act? It's called Problem-Reaction-Solution. Use covert agents operating under a false flag to blow something up or otherwise terrorise the people, whip up the reaction in the mainstream press, and then swoop in with some wild plan for how to fix the problenm so it will never happen again. That's how we got this war, the Patriot Act, the new Gestapo headed by Mr. Deathsquad himself, and it's how they will bring in the next set of anti-constitutional reforms. Unless we the People get off our butts and demand accountability for this stuff, we are simply spinning our wheels. They don't want this war to end. They're making too much money. So we have to end it for them.
